Sewing Bee

Ekka Show Day holiday meant a day off work which gave me a chance to hit the sewing machine.

Pinned and cut pattern pieces from a bag full of kimono remnants Matty bought me in Hobart.

One completed pocket piece.

Pocket and pen holder attached to main center piece.
Base piece and top casing piece attached to main centre piece.
Sides and base sewn together.
One pouch.
Complete with red and white string and silver bead, for Michelle.

Jo, that pouch is beautiful. Did you make the pattern up yourself?

The pouch sure is beautiful, and I absolutely love it (and the Moleskine sketchbook snuggled inside it and the wooden pencils in the skinny front pocket)...!!
Thank you for your lovely handmade present :)

I lived in Vietnam in 2000 and this fabric was everwhere, mainly as a light doona. I couldn't find it there but in recent years it seems to be available everywhere. I still love it. So sunny and happy.
